ABOUT US

Sudan: Located in north-eastern Africa, the Republic of Sudan is bordered by Egypt to the north, Libya to the north-west, Chad to the west, the Central African Republic to the south-west, South Sudan to the south, Ethiopia to the south-east and the Red Sea to the east.

Karmakol: Is a village 300 km north of Khartoum In the northern states of Sudan. It falls in The western bank of the Nile river. 

 



Our Mission at Karmakol Village is:

Bring attention to the high potential in agriculture and tourism.

Make the villagers’ stories heard.

Connect the village with different organizations in Sudan and overseas.

And most importantly, to keep ancestors’ legacy alive through the new generation.

To have Karmakol registered as a tourist and historical attraction on the UNESCO list.

Film making workshop for children

In April 2018, a film making workshop for children, which was implemented by the Children Filmmaking Initiative, was held in cooperation with the National Council for Child Welfare and under the sponsor of the United Nations Children’s Fund.
Ten children from Khartoum State and seven children from Karmakol village participated, with three children from neighboring villages.
The workshop aimed to train children from the age of ten to fourteen years on initial filmmaking skills as a way to express their reality and dreams and to discuss societal issues that concern them such as education and health.

What We’ve Achieved

Distributed fruit trees to families in Karmakol

In March 2018, the initiative of the Agricultural Wheat Company was implemented in coordination with the People’s Committee, the Association of Working Women, and the Al-Ittihad Club in Karmakol. The project also aims to develop and encourage home gardens with a view to future production and preventing the effects of climate change in the region.
